This eco resort & life experience centre offers accommodation in ethnic cottages made from locally available material in rural style of architecture. The resort is partially powered by solar energy with safe drinking water and offers simple & palatable local food. The area is surrounded by lush green paddy fields and fishing pond overlooking the sanctuary on the bank of river Gumdi.
TORA offers the opportunity to explore the amazing bio-diversity of Sundarbans Tiger Reserve along with a true village life experience at the Bali Island to understand the existence of human civilization in these adverse situations and their struggle for life every day. As a part of our Sustainable Tourism practice we have encouraged the host community to build up their capacity to receive tourists and earn revenue by running the resort along with the experiential activities. At TORA, the people of Bali village will be your host, they will take you around the village and forest or on a cruise through the creeks and tell you the story of Sundarbans.

TORA Eco Resort is located at Sundarban Bali island ( Block - Gosaba, District - 24 Parganas South ) adjacent to Sajnekhali Wildlife Sanctuary under Sundarban Tiger Reserve. It is situated on the bank of River Gomdi. Its distance from Kolkata is approximately 120 kms. It takes approximately three hours to reach Gadkhali by car. From Gadkhali, the guests are transferred into comfortable mechanised boats to the Resort which takes approximately one hour.
